What we collect, what it's for, and how to get rid of it. Plain language, because the site is run by one person and there's nothing to hide.

Browsing without an account
You can browse the whole catalog, the guides, and the price charts without signing up. We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and where visitors come from; it sets cookies and collects standard usage data (pages visited, browser type, rough location). We see aggregate reports, not a profile of you. If you block analytics with a browser extension, the site works exactly the same.
The prices on this site describe cameras, not people. The nightly crawl reads public listings from used-gear retailers, and none of that involves visitor data. How the crawl works is on the methodology page.
Some outbound Amazon links are affiliate links, disclosed in the footer. If you click one, Amazon sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy; we see aggregate commission reports, never who clicked.
With an account
Accounts are free and exist so the site can remember your cameras. We store your email address and display name, handled by Clerk, our sign-in provider, which sets the cookies that keep you signed in. We also store the cameras you track or mark as owned, and the price alerts those generate. That's the whole list. No payment data, because nothing here costs money.
If you leave email alerts on, we send you a daily digest when a price alert fires for a camera you track. Delivery runs through Resend, which processes your email address to deliver the message. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and the same switch lives on your watchlist page. More detail is on the help page.
The site runs on Cloudflare, so requests and stored data pass through Cloudflare's infrastructure like they do for a large share of the web.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't run ads. We don't email you anything except the price digest you asked for. The third parties above (Clerk, Resend, Google Analytics, Cloudflare, Amazon) each see only what their job requires.
Deleting your account
Open the account menu (your avatar in the header), manage your account, and delete it. When Clerk tells us the account is gone, we delete your row and everything keyed to it: tracked cameras, owned cameras, and alert history. Nothing is soft-deleted or kept around.
